Learn to teach

A skilled coach is of fundamental importance in ensuring the young soccer players to reach their full potential. The coach must be qualified to design age-appropriate and efficient training sessions. He needs to be fully committed to the educational impact of youth sport and consistently seek to promote positive character development. He is able to motivate, encourage and transmit his experience and love for sport to younger generations. While striving for excellence, he should never lose the joy for the game.
Coaches may be knowledgeable and highly organised, but without good communication skills, these attributes may never be reflected in the performance of players.

The success of the coach is determined by his ability to effectively communicate with athletes and in turn getting them to better communicate with each other. In the youth sport, it is important to communicate constructively also with the parents.
For all this, the coaches should always seek self-improvement.
AFA provides a range of coaching courses on specific issues, from 3-day seminars to intensive one day courses. Through our courses, we want to help soccer clubs to systematically develop their youth sport. All seminars are conducted by AFA-specialists and external experts.
